Dr. Sam Zaker
Dr. Sam Zaker maintains the highest standards in dentistry by using the latest techniques and state-of-the-art dental technology. His commitment to excellence starts from the moment he meets his patient, listens to the patient’s concerns, and comes up with the most painless and long-lasting solution possible.
Dr. Zaker’s devotion to dental health is most evident by his involvement in various dental organizations and his continuing education in courses including cosmetic, prosthodontic, pedodontic, and endodontic dentistry, oral surgery, and implantology. Dr. Zaker graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry in 2007. His undergraduate degree is from the University of California, Los Angeles where he completed his Bachelor of Science in biology.
Dr. Zaker’s certifications include advanced CAD/CAM training, Invisalign, ClearCorrect, Lumineers, dermal fillers and Botox®. He is a Boston Implant Institute fellow and is proficient in implant placement, implant restoration, bone grafts, and sinus augmentation. Dr. Zaker is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Los Angeles Dental Society, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, and USC School of Dentistry Alumni Association.

Dr. Zaker is fluent in English, German, and Farsi, and is an active member of the South Bay community. He was raised in the area, and currently lives in the neighborhood with his wife. In his spare time, Dr. Zaker plays sports, spends time with his family, and enjoys photography.

Dr. Tom Cyr
Dr. Tom Cyr was born and raised in Seattle. After attending Pomona College in Claremont, CA, he returned to the Pacific Northwest, graduating from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1990. After earning his degree, Dr. Cyr started and grew a thriving (private) practice in Seattle, Washington, where he found deep satisfaction in caring for his patients in all aspects of dentistry/varying dental needs. He especially enjoyed getting to know his patients. After twenty-six gratifying years of practicing dentistry and raising three children, Southern California beckoned. Dr. Cyr and his wife Suzy returned to be closer to her family in Palos Verdes. It was hard to say goodbye to so many longtime patients and friends, but they both love being back in the South Bay, close to the ocean, family, and the sun.
A trial retirement proved to be short-lived when Dr. Cyr found himself missing dentistry and the stimulation of a busy dental practice. He was delighted to find excellence at Smile Emporium. Dr. Cyr brings a wide-ranging skill set to practice. He places implants and performs endodontics (root canal treatment), full orthodontics (braces and removable), and advanced restorative reconstruction. He also treats TMD (TMJ problems) in addition to crowns, bridges, partials, cosmetic treatments, and smile design. What sets Dr. Cyr apart is his positive attitude, calm demeanor, patience, and gentle touch. He views each patient as a very special person, earning their trust through his compassion and expertise. Dr. Cyr commits himself to the very finest dental care for every single patient.
Continuing education is a vital part of Dr. Cyr’s practice, enabling him to keep up with technical advances and the latest techniques. To that end, he has earned well over two thousand hours of continuing education credit. He is also a co-founder of two dental study clubs and continues an educational legacy through study club teaching and lecturing. Dr. Cyr also believes in being part of organized dentistry through dental associations, achieving leadership positions in international and national dental academies.
When Dr. Cyr is not helping patients in the dental office, he enjoys surfing, cycling, competing in triathlons, hiking, sailing, scuba diving, and studying theoretical physics. He also keeps up with a life-long love of stringed instruments and tries to keep limber on his cello and various types of mandolins.
